Rio and Taliyah's Dedication Liturgy

Welcome

In the name of God,Big J, The True Jah, the giver of life, who creates and loves us all, we have gathered to celebrate the gift of Rio Ledley Allen- Campbell and his beautiful cousin Taliyah-May Angel Day, born into the city of London; given to us to love, to nurture, educate and party with.

Within this gathering we embody the different influences that will impact his life: Parents, Godparents, family, extended family, angels, friends, and community.

Like Minded circles, overlapping, radiating and expanding, with different beliefs and backgrounds! But with one belief Love, Love for others as well as Love for ourselves. We now focus on Love who’s centre is everywhere and circumference nowhere.

SO let us all say our statement why we are here!

All: Love, Love is something we believe in! This is why we are here and we say we love your family!

Every back alley, every street is simultaneously a boundary that protects the trea- sure inside, and a border we are encouraged to cross.

So as we gather to give thanks for the love that surrounds, we will be focusing on expanding our boundary in the hope that Rio and Taliyah’s vision will be wide, and centre true. Whilst at the start we will protect and stand tall to any foes, we under- stand that these beauties will need to learn to fly with their own wings! Let us not hold back the aspiration and potentials of these gifts but

encourage and enjoy!

We thank you for the friends that we have and we thank you for the influences that will steer these children to Beam that love we speak of and help them grow strong, innocent and joyful!

Ronke SIng

God our creator,
we thank you for the wonder of new life
and for the mystery of human love.
We thank you for all whose support and skill surround and sustain us.
We thank you that we are known to you by name and loved by you from all eternity.

We thank you for God’s madness in these gifts before us, the God who has opened to us the way of love.
We praise you Father.

Amen Amen Amen

Parents prayers for the child!

It is the responsibility of all of us to ensure that not only Rio and Taliyah, but all the children we know are helped to understand the place that the community they have joined has within space, history and culture.

Jesus Said that children are at the centre of the Kingdom. These children are the centre of understanding love and how simple it is to communicate to each other! More chance of Barnet winning the lead than a rich popstar paying for a chat with the Father!

Love the children, protect and fight for them!

But it is also our responsibility to gently expose them over time to the other stories, places and cultures that make up our cities, nations and world. It is our responsibility to awake their soul to life and all it’s heavenly wonders!

So I ask you all:

Will you welcome Rio & Taliyah to this community? We will.
Will you support the parents as best you can as they bring him up? We will. And for all the children gathered, will you always try to widen their vision and deepen their understanding? We will.

God who gave up life for freedom to choose Him
Help us to be wise guides as Rio and Taliyah begins their journey As their world grows, may we:
Walk with them,
Inspire them,
Protect them,
Encourage them,
Correct them,
Trust them,
Laugh with them,
dance with them,
& Release them,

Prayers from people

Song lyrics to inspire

Love it will not betray you, dismay or enslave you,
It will set you free
Be more like the man you were made to be.
There is a design, an alignment, a cry
Of my heart to see,
The beauty of love as it was made to be

Love it will not betray you, dismay or enslave you,
It will set you free
Be more like the woman you were made to be.
There is a design, an alignment, a cry
Of my heart to see,
The beauty of love as it was made to be

James Mumford

I want to fly like an eagle
To the sea
Fly like an eagle
Let your spirit carry me
I want to fly like an eagle
‘Til I’m free
Oh, Lord, through the revolution

Feed the babies
Who don’t have enough to eat
Shoe the children
With no shoes on their feet
House the people
Livin’ in the street

Steve Miller & horace andy

miri – against negativity

They just keep holdin’ me,
A-won’t let go;
Holdin’ me;
Won’t let go!

I need a hammer – a hammer – a hammer – a hammer
To hammer them down!
I need a rammer – a rammer – a rammer – a rammer
To ram them down!

Bob Marley

You know I said it’s true
I can feel the love
Can you feel it too
I can feel ah ah
I can feel ah ah

You know I said it’s true
I can feel the love
Can you feel it too
I can feel ah ah
I can feel ah ah yeah
